• Verifies and correctly enters patient demographic and insurance data, including any insurance notification required.
• Performs clerical duties such as admission, discharges, transfers and deaths as needed.
• Completes all required forms and scans to maintain a complete patient record.
• Answers the switchboard/phone and appropriately responds to emergency alarms as required.
• Safely transports patients, supplies, and specimens as needed.
• Responsible for accepting and processing payments.
• Processes department supply ordering, equipment maintenance, repair requisitions, and department mail.
• Maintains patient privacy and respects the values of individual patients, providing services accordingly.
• Provides cooperative and courteous service to patients, physicians, staff members, and visitors in a timely manner with the utmost professional behavior.
• Participates in unit meetings, statistical data gathering, and quality improvement activities, including serving on quality improvement teams.
• Maintains tidiness of the registration and waiting area; cleans desks, countertops, cabinets, etc., as needed.
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Observes and reports all patient concerns and changes in condition to a nurse immediately.
• Maintains current BLS certification.
• Performs and documents ER patient care technician duties while (text incomplete).

• Vital signs.
• EKGs.
• Finger stick blood glucose monitoring.
• Inserts and removes urinary catheter.
• Administers enemas as directed.
• Obtains and records patient specimens.
• Assists RN with other patient care duties.
• Maintains patient room cleanliness as needed.
