SOME Inc. exists to help the homeless and poor of Washington, DC. With over 30 programs throughout the District of Columbia, we provide a wide spectrum of services to the most vulnerable individuals and families of our city. We strive to provide success paths toward mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training, and employment with a living wage, affordable housing, and ultimately living independently and confidently.
Compensation: We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $17.95 - $19.00 and may be commensurate with experience.
Position
Description:
The Residential Assistant will provide monitoring and oversight of residential/transitional housing facilities and residents.
This position is located at our treatment program for adult men and women in High View, West Virginia.
Required: HS Degree/GED; 1-3 yrs experience in social services; experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment
Required License/Certification
: CPR/First Aid; AED;
Food Handler's License;
Crisis Intervention (Training);
Driver's License
Schedule: Friday and Saturday, 12:00 am - 8:00 am ( Part-Time,16 hours per week)
Expected Contributions: Program Operations
- Perform room checks and hourly house walk-throughs
- Provide supervision of the facility and residents during assigned shift; maintain safety and security of the facility
- Assist residents with daily living activities
- Monitor resident compliance with rules and regulations
- Provide documentation and maintain communication logs
- Respond to crises or medical emergencies and report to management and on-call staff
- Ensure house chores are completed
- Assist residents in preparing meals, as needed

- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and mental health issues
