About the Role:The Radiology Technologist at Critical Access Hospital in Grantsville plays a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to support patient care. This position involves operating advanced radiographic equipment to produce clear and accurate images that assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. The technologist ensures patient safety and comfort while adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and hospital policies.
Collaboration with healthcare professionals is essential to provide timely and effective imaging services that contribute to positive patient outcomes. Additionally, the role requires maintaining detailed records and managing imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with regulatory standards.Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).Valid state licensure through the WV Medical Imaging & Radiation Technology Board Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Demonstrated knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety.
- Experience working in a critical access or rural hospital setting.
Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
Experience with quality assurance and regulatory compliance in radiology departments.
- Perform diagnostic imaging examinations including X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other radiographic procedures as ordered by physicians.
Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain the best possible images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Operate and maintain radiology equipment, performing routine quality control and troubleshooting as needed.
Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members to review images and provide necessary technical information.
Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
Educate patients about the imaging process and address any concerns or questions they may have.
Preferred skills such as familiarity with PACS and RIS systems enhance workflow efficiency and image management. Strong communication skills facilitate clear explanations to patients and effective collaboration with healthcare teams, ensuring seamless diagnostic processes.
