Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team and provide services to our geriatric patients. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders in older adults. This is a full-time position with a salary range of 41-48 per hour and a 30-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with a weekend rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities in geriatric patients
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient goals
  • Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to improve speech, language, and swallowing abilities
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
  • Educate patients and their families on strategies for improving communication and swallowing skills
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in geriatric speech therapy
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards as set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to work a weekend rotation as needed
  • CPR certification
