Medical Records Clerk (Part-Time, 16 hrs/week)
Facility: Salem Correctional Center
Location: Industrial, West Virginia
As a Medical Records Clerk, you will maintain and organize patient health records while ensuring compliance with confidentiality and documentation standards. The role requires working closely with healthcare staff and facility leadership to manage records and support clinical operations.
- Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records, logs, and health information systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Ensure the confidentiality, security, and proper release of medical information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Retrieve, file, and manage clinical documentation, including laboratory reports, consultation reports, and other healthcare records.
- Support healthcare operations through appointment tracking, report preparation, record management, and administrative support activities.
- Assist with compliance initiatives, statistical reporting, record retention requirements, and continuous improvement of medical records processes.
You will go beyond filing records and help ensure the right information is available at the right time, supporting quality care for every patient.
What You’ll Need- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous medical records, healthcare administration, or clerical experience (preferred).
- Current CPR certification (required).
