The Webster County Board of Education wishes to announce the following service personnel job vacancy beginning with the 2026- 2027 school year:

LOCATION:

Webster Springs Elementary School

BEGINNING TIME: 7:45 a.m.

ENDING TIME: 3:15 pm

REQUIREMENTS:
Must have taken and passed the state mandated competency test for aide.

SALARY:
Based on the state mandated salary schedule. ($2, 401- $4,061 per month)

Previous experience with disabled students, including children having challenging behaviors and autism spectrum disorder is a plus. The successful applicant will receive further training, including working with a BCBA to address challenging behaviors.

This position may include working with students who may:

  • Have challenging behaviors
  • Have uneven patterns of intellectual functioning
  • May have difficulty in understanding and expressing emotions
  • Have disturbance in the capacity to relate appropriately to people, events and objects, communication, and social behavior
  • Have difficulty generalizing, following directions, sequencing, and staying on task outside their area of interest
  • Resist change in routines
  • Exhibit low levels of cognitive functioning and problem solving
  • Need academic assistance in specific educational programs

This position may also require:

  • Administration of medication to Special Education and Regular Education Students in accordance with West Virginia Code §18-5-22 and County Policy
  • Lifting a minimum of 100lbs. vertically
  • Participation in and implementation of specialized training including Behavior management, de-escalation and CPI
  • Implementation of health care plans
  • Working in a team-teaching setting under the supervision of certified professionals
  • Implementation of intervention techniques designed by teacher and related services providers
