Company Description

Mountainside ABA is an autism support organization founded in 2017 to provide high-quality, individualized ABA therapy services within local communities. The organization serves families across multiple locations in West Virginia and the Winchester area of Virginia, emphasizing the importance of community members serving their own communities. Mountainside ABA has played a key role in expanding access to ABA therapy by advocating for Medicaid coverage in West Virginia, developing skilled ABA providers, and opening trusted local centers where children can thrive.

Services include in-home, center-based, and, when appropriate, daycare or school-based ABA therapy, all guided by regional Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who design and oversee evidence-based programs. Throughout every interaction, Mountainside ABA prioritizes quality, care, and individualized support for children with autism and their families.

Role Description

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a full-time, on-site role based in Inwood, WV. RBTs work directly with children with autism, providing 1:1 teaching, behavioral support, and engaging, play-based learning in accordance with treatment plans developed by BCBAs. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing individualized ABA programs, collecting and recording data on client progress, assisting with behavior management strategies, and communicating observations to supervising BCBAs.

The RBT collaborates with families and team members to support continuity of care across home, center, and, when applicable, daycare or school settings. This role involves maintaining a safe, supportive environment while upholding Mountainside ABA's core values of quality, care, and individualization.

Qualifications
  • Ability to implement structured teaching and behavior support strategies, follow treatment plans, and adapt to individual client needs.
  • Strong observational and data collection skills, including accurate documentation of behaviors, progress, and session notes.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with supervising BCBAs, colleagues, and families.
  • Capacity to engage children through play, build rapport, and maintain a supportive, patient, and respectful approach.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field is preferred.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain certification within an established timeframe.
  • Ability to work on-site in Inwood, WV, including reliable transportation and readiness to support clients in center-based and, when needed, community settings.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and adherence to ABA principles and organizational policies.
