DescriptionAre you passionate about patient care and making a difference with every interaction? Boone Memorial Health is looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team!
Every blood draw is more than a procedure—it's an opportunity to provide comfort, reassurance, and quality care to our patients.
Essential FunctionsAs a phlebotomist, you'll play a vital role in our laboratory by:
- Collecting routine, timed, and STAT blood specimens
- Correctly identifying patients before specimen collection
- Providing compassionate care to patients of all ages—from newborns to geriatrics
- Safely transporting specimens following infection prevention guidelines
- Collecting chain-of-custody specimens when required
- Answering laboratory phone calls and responding appropriately to patient and staff needs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Great time management and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- A commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary
