PRN APP - Emergency Department
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) shall provide compassionate, comprehensive management of our Emergency Medicine patients according to privileges approved by the Medical Staff Office and established clinical protocols in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. The APP has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The Advanced Practice Provider manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgement, communication and collaboration with all team members.
The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP shall work under the supervision of a physician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A graduate of a masters prepared Nurse Practitioner program;
Certified by either the ANCC or AANP board OR Graduate of an accreditation review commission on the Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program.
Experience:
Previous advanced practice experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred. Previous experience in emergency medicine is strongly desired.
Licensure:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing OR Current license as a Physician Assistant by the WV Board of Medicine with a certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Active, unrestricted WV DEA license. Must be credentialed according to Mon Health Medical Center's Medical Staff By-laws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff.
Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), and advanced trauma life support (ATLS) within probationary period and maintain certifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Heavy Work;
Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently and/or in excess of 20lbs of force constantly.
