Patient Access Clerk

Rivers Health is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to Primarily responsible for all clerical communications and data processing activities related to the pre-registration, quick registration, and registration of all patients of the facility. Requires a customer relation focused attitude that relates a helpful and friendly atmosphere.

• Verifies and correctly enters patient demographic and insurance data

including any insurance notification required.

• Performs clerical duties such as admission, discharges, transfers

and deaths as needed

• Completes all required forms and scanning to maintain complete

patient record.

• Answers switchboard/phone and appropriately responds to emergency

alarms as required.

• Safely transports patients, supplies and specimens as needed.
• Responsible for accepting and processing payments.
• Processes department supply ordering, equipment maintenance, repair

requisitions and department mail.

• Maintains patient privacy and respects values of individual patients

and provides services accordingly.

• Provides cooperative and courteous service to patients, physicians,

staff members and visitors in a timely manner with the utmost of professional behavior.

• Participates in unit meetings, statistical data gathering and

quality improvement activities including serving on quality improvement teams.

• Maintains tidiness of registration and waiting area. Cleans desk,

counter tops, cabinets, etc. as needed.

• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, safety,

environmental and infection control standards.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
