Adelphi is seeking a pharmacy technician to provide services at a facility in Glenville, West Virginia. The ideal candidate will provide onsite pharmacy support within a secure federal correctional healthcare environment and will assist the pharmacist with medication preparation, dispensing support, inventory control, documentation and daily pharmacy operations while following all applicable clinical, privacy and institutional security requirements.

Requirements
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pharmacy Technician internship.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Pharmacy Technician experience.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the pharmacist with ordering, receiving, stocking, storing and dispensing medications.
  • Prepare pill-line medication cards and unit-dose medications.
  • Maintain medication stock in the pharmacy, crash carts, emergency bags and automated dispensing systems.
  • Check medication expiration dates and remove outdated stock according to policy.
  • Maintain narcotic counts and needle and syringe inventories.
  • Restock and audit night-stock cabinets and automated dispensing systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe pharmacy environment.
  • Use electronic medical records and pharmacy computer systems.
  • Complete scheduling, scanning, filing, call-outs and stock documentation.
  • Receive patients and explain pharmacy procedures as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance-improvement activities.
  • Follow medication safety, infection-control, privacy and security requirements.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and immediately report security concerns.
