Are you an experienced inpatient coding professional with a passion for accuracy, compliance, and revenue integrity? We're conducting a confidential search for Remote DRG Validators to join a highly respected healthcare consulting organization that partners with hospitals nationwide to improve coding accuracy, clinical documentation, and reimbursement outcomes.
What You'll Do:
✔ Perform MS-DRG and APR-DRG validation reviews for inpatient medical records
✔ Audit ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRG assignment, and provider documentation
✔ Prepare clear audit rationales, physician queries, and appeal letters for coding denials
✔ Educate coding teams on coding guidelines and best practices
✔ Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, Official Coding Guidelines, Coding Clinic guidance, and UHDDS standards
✔ Maintain exceptional quality standards with a target accuracy rate of 95–100%
What We're Looking For:
- AHIMA certification required (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA)
- 5+ years of inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding experience
- Extensive knowledge of MS-DRG and APR-DRG methodologies
- Experience with DRG validation, clinical validation, coding audits, CDI, quality assurance, or revenue integrity
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to write audit findings and appeal letters
- Experience with 3M, Tru Code, Epic, Microsoft Office, and other HIM technologies preferred
- Self-motivated professional who thrives in a remote environment
