Set Up Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist the Set‑Up Manager with the items listed below.
  • Co‑ordinate and communicate all information from BEOs to Banquet Set‑Up and Facility Set‑Up to ensure correct set‑ups throughout the property.
  • Manage and schedule duties for approximately 10 to 35 employees daily and weekly.
  • Complete payroll and low‑earning duties.
  • Attend pre‑conference and weekly BEO meetings.
  • Order table linens and supplies for meeting and banquet set‑ups.
  • Work safely and provide personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with Event Services, Food & Beverage and other departments.
  • Administer and record disciplinary actions (coaching, absenteeism, etc.).
  • Meet with group contacts.
  • Care for, handle, and store all equipment and linens.
  • Interact with internal and external guests effectively.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Communicate via two‑way radio, e‑mail, and cell phone.
  • Communicate with vendors (e.g., Gillespie’s Flowers) regarding décor and materials for different functions.
  • Inventory all equipment and order new equipment.
  • Ensure staff is informed of all changes and additions to set‑ups and that these changes are completed.
Normal Working Hours
  • Day shift – shift times vary depending on business needs.
Past Work Experience Requirements
  • Previous set‑up experience preferred.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Public contact experience.
Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Communication Skills Requirements
  • Ability to listen, comprehend, and speak well.
  • Ability to give and receive accurate information from guests, managers, group contacts, and staff in a timely manner.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Handle demanding situations professionally.
