We're a fully remote, asynchronous team spread across multiple continents, focused on crafting extremely polished digital board games that people truly love.
AboutThe Role
As a Product Associate, you will accelerate growth by driving player activation and retention through data-driven insights and a deep understanding of user behavior. You’ll help scale our platform by organizing research, identifying UX issues, designing and running experiments, and transforming complex inputs into clear, testable product initiatives for a game with over 5 million annual players.

- Analyze funnel and experiment data to generate actionable insights
- Coordinate cross-functionally to execute experiments and maintain quality
- Conduct user testing and playtests to validate solutions and gather insights
- Break down complex projects into clear, testable steps for async execution
- Report results, trade-offs, and recommendations in structured written formats
- Exceptional attention to detail and high standards for clarity and execution
- Strong written communication for async collaboration; able to write clear specs, experiment docs, and impact reports
- Skilled at turning research into structured, actionable outputs (matrices, experiment plans, reports)
- Experience designing and running experiments, defining success metrics, and conducting post-mortems
- Able to identify UX issues and collaborate with designers to iterate and validate solutions through testing
- Proficient in data analysis, interpretation, and presenting findings
- Strong product intuition, familiar with mobile UX constraints and product lifecycle
- SQL proficiency
- Ability to read code for deeper collaboration with devs
- Forum/community moderation or support experience
Dependability
We’re self-driven players who deliver without supervision. When we commit, we deliver.
Ownership
We take full responsibility and go beyond our roles to improve Colonist. We act like owners, because through stock options, we actually are.
Clear Communication
In a remote environment, written clarity matters. We are direct, structured, and keep each other informed.
Efficient Execution
We move fast and focus on impact. Practical solutions that ship are preferred over perfect solutions that don’t.
Continuous Learning
We’re curious problem solvers who seek feedback, iterate often, and change our minds when shown better evidence.
