Information Technology Technician

Description

The IT Technician’s role will involve supporting and maintaining IT systems within a busy manufacturing environment to maximize availability, efficiency and cybersecurity.

Tasks will include troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues across a complex IT environment as well as setting up and configuring new systems and software.

Below is a summary of job duties, as well as minimum requirements for qualification:

• Provide end-user technical support for desktop systems and peripherals
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues
• Install and configure hardware and software
• Repair or replace desktop and server hardware and supporting power and network infrastructure
• Monitor and upgrade
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Train users on new software and technologies
• Support and assist the IT sys admin
• Provide remote technical support where required
• Other duties as assigned.

• Exceptional IT skills
• Experience installing and maintaining desktop and server versions of the Windows operating system
• Familiarity with common desktop and server hardware, software and peripherals
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
• Good knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Certification as IT Technician (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) will be an advantage
• Degree in Computer Science and/or relevant IT experience
