Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of IT Operations Team Lead at the NSWV facility in Apple Grove, WV. This is a full‑time, permanent role leading the Infrastructure Team and Application Support Analyst Team. The position works closely with the IT Manager and local division leadership to ensure the facility’s IT infrastructure and application needs are met, provides guidance to the IT team, and ensures projects progress on schedule.

The role is also key to accelerating our AI and automation roadmap, designing and implementing agentic systems to reduce manual effort and improve workflow efficiency. The position will require occasional travel.

• Acting as a trusted partner with business operations and production processes.
• Provide mentorship to IT infrastructure and Application Support Analyst peers.
• Project oversight, including managing deliverables, cross‑functional collaboration with all business groups, and strong financial awareness, including monitoring project costs and keeping the team on track with budget expectations.
• Guiding IT initiatives that support modernization, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
• Windows server and Linux server administration.
• The implementation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, licensing of software/applications, and hardware maintenance agreements and contracts.
• Translating business needs into technical solutions and keeping leadership informed about risks, progress, and resource needs.
• Managing virtual cloud platforms such as VMWare environments, Virtual Private Cloud, and/or Azure computing, including storage, network, full VMs, and container applications.
• Managing and supporting access control and camera system solutions.
• Active Directory, Certificates, DNS, DHCP, File Shares, SMTP, IIS, Entra , O365 administration, SharePoint.
• Backup, testing, and recovery including updating and maintaining the disaster recovery plan.
• Project Management in Agile framework, including overseeing contractor responsibilities and duties.
• SQL and Oracle database management.
• Assisting with network and security administration.
• Identify opportunities for system upgrades and improvements, and contribute to solution recommendations.
• Approach initiatives and software implementations with an enterprise‑wide mindset, ensuring solutions align with broader business needs, standards, and long‑term scalability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work a rotational on‑call IT support schedule to include evenings and weekends as assigned.

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and application support/management.
• Technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
• Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional demeanor with high flexibility, responsiveness, and self‑direction.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Experience working in a large, complex organization with multiple divisions.
• Ability to analyze, identify and solve complex problems.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Displays responsibility, reliability, and is committed to fulfilling work obligations and can hold others accountable for desired results.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight.
• Advanced experience of data center design including environmental control requirements.
• Advanced experience with network architecture design.
• Advanced experience with IIS administration and/or SharePoint administration.
• Advanced experience with Cohesity/Veeam systems.
• Advanced experience with configuring and managing server environments.
• Scripting experience, including but not limited to Power Shell and Python.
• Project management experience.
• Manufacturing‑related IT experience, with a preference for process‑related industries.
