Senior Product Application Manager

We are seeking a Senior Product Application Manager who will be the core driver behind the technical definition and market adoption of our next-generation Video SoC products. In this strategic role, you will act as a technical authority, translating deep insights from customers and the ecosystem into concrete product software specifications and system architecture.
This position is strongly software-oriented and functions closer to a Software Product Application Manager. The role requires deep understanding of embedded firmware and Linux-based system architecture, the ability to evaluate system-level trade-offs, and the capability to drive software strategy alignment across multiple Camera / Video SoC platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer system requirements, product architectures, and technical roadmaps, and translate them into SoC software and system-level solutions.
- Act as the software-focused product application owner for the Video SoC software stack, including boot flow, BSP, SDK, and middleware.
- Evaluate and validate firmware and system architecture proposals using embedded domain knowledge and AI-assisted research, assessing feasibility, risks, and long-term maintainability.
- Coordinate with other Camera / Video SoC software PDMs to align software strategies, including:
Linux version selection and kernel maintenance approach Partial SDK interface and architecture alignment across platforms. - Drive cross-SoC software consistency where appropriate, and clearly define boundaries where divergence is required due to architecture, performance, or market needs.
- Consolidate product and competitor benchmarking data to generate analytical reports and drive performance enhancement and differentiation initiatives.
- Travel Frequency:
Approximately 4 times per year (Destinations: US, India, or China).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, with 8+ years strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with strong cross-functional collaboration capability.
- Solid background in embedded firmware or system software, with hands-on experience or equivalent technical depth in embedded Linux-based systems.
- Proven ability to independently judge firmware constraints, implementation risks, and system-level trade-offs, without reliance solely on development teams.
- Ability to leverage AI tools and technical references to cross-validate firmware designs, Linux subsystem behavior, and architectural assumptions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior collaboration with multiple Camera / Video SoC platforms, especially in aligning or comparing Linux kernel strategies and SDK designs.
- Experience supporting customer SoC products in a technical, application, or solution-facing role.
- Familiarity with multimedia pipelines, ISP, camera sensors, and video frameworks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
