Position: SME DevSecOps Architect / Engineer with Security Clearance
Location: Kearneysville

GovCIO is seeking a SME Dev Sec Ops  Architect/Engineer to support a critical government computer system for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Software Yard - ASE - Architecture and Modeling Branch. This role is primarily responsible for establishing, sustaining, and automating the foundational technical baseline and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) domain architectures throughout the solution lifecycle. This position will be located in Kearneysville, WV, and will be a hybrid position.

Responsibilities As a SME Dev Sec Ops  Architect/Engineer, you will serve as a primary technical resource for providing the architectural context that guides all software development, delivery, and sustainment activities. You will ensure that all platforms and applications are built on a consistent, secure, and automated foundation.

Key responsibilities include:

* Design, deploy, and manage continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated provisioning pipelines built on secure architecture models.
* Construct and maintain actionable MBSE domain architectures and integrated digital models to establish a definitive technical baseline.
* Integrate Zero Trust principles and cybersecurity requirements directly into the foundational design of all platform and domain architectures.
* Formalize technical standards and interoperability standards, ensuring full synchronization with overarching PEO C5I enterprise strategies and policies.
* Provide architectural guidance and reference models to development, integration, and product teams to ensure engineering remains traceable.
* Map and document complex service capabilities, architectural dependencies, and automated workflows across multiple technology domains.
* Drive the continuous evolution of the Software Yard's baseline by monitoring, evaluating, and recommending emerging technologies.
* Ensure compliance with federal security standards, government baselines, and DISA STIGs through automated security gating and vulnerability remediation. Qualifications High School with 12+ years (or commensurate experience) Required Skills & Experience
* DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security).
* Experience designing, building, and maintaining secure Dev Sec Ops  pipelines and automated software delivery frameworks.
* Proven experience creating and maintaining MBSE domain architectures, integrated digital models, or enterprise-level architecture blueprints.
* Comprehensive operational understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and integrating cybersecurity controls into foundational designs.
* Strong experience establishing engineering frameworks, technical standards, and software traceability practices across automated life cycles.
* Proficiency in automating infrastructure, configuration management, and deployment gating within complex, multi-domain environments.
* Strong foundational understanding of diverse IT domains including enterprise virtualization, software engineering, cloud architecture, and network boundaries.

Clearance Required:

Active Secret Clearance Preferred Skills & Experience
* Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard, Software Yard, or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.
* Familiarity with PEO C5I enterprise strategies, architectural policies, and command structures.
* Relevant professional certifications highly preferred (e.g., Dev Sec Ops  certifications, AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect, or INCOSE ASEP/CSEP).
* Understanding containerization and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) paired with automated vulnerability scanning tools.
