Location: Kearneysville

GovCIO seeks a Journeyman Asset Management Specialist to support our Maintenance & Asset Management team in a fast-paced federal IT environment. You'll maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software, and infrastructure assets; optimize lifecycle and maintenance planning; and ensure compliance with federal, security, and licensing requirements. Working closely with operations and cybersecurity teams, you'll administer asset tools (CMDB/CMMS), deliver insightful reports, and drive process improvements that enhance mission-critical system reliability and support GovCIO's digital modernization goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate hardware, software, and infrastructure asset records across federal IT environments
  • Optimize lifecycle management from procurement through decommissioning to support availability and cost control
  • Administer and enhance asset and maintenance tools (e.g., CMDB, CMMS/EAM) for data quality and automation
  • Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and security teams to align asset data with change and incident processes
  • Track warranties, licenses, and contracts to ensure compliance with federal and vendor requirements
  • Produce dashboards and reports on asset health, utilization, and inventory for leadership and program stakeholders
  • Support audits, cybersecurity initiatives, and configuration baselines using authoritative asset data
  • Identify process improvements and standardize asset workflows across programs and locations
  • Provide guidance to technicians and stakeholders on asset standards, tagging, and documentation
  • Contribute to mission-focused IT modernization initiatives aligned with Gov
  • CIO best practices
