Job Description Summary

The Enterprise Physical Security Technology Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, optimization, and security of the organization’s physical security technology environment—including the video management system (VMS), physical access control system (PACS), and IP intercom system. The administrator ensures reliable operations, system performance, and compliance, working closely with internal IT teams and external partners to support infrastructure, integrations, and incident response.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Configuration, management, and maintenance of all physical security platforms and edge devices
  • Continuous monitoring of system health, storage, bandwidth, and compliance with retention policies
  • Routine maintenance, upgrades, firmware updates, and proactive diagnostics to ensure reliability
  • Administration of user roles, permissions, access, and secure handling/export of video and log evidence
  • Coordination with other teams for servers, storage, network, virtualization, and integration support
  • Assistance with video footage/logs for investigations, audits, and incident response; live monitoring assistance during critical events.
  • Maintenance of system documentation, development of SOPs, and training/support for end users and security staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with security policies, maintaining audit trails, and supporting secure export procedures
  • Creation and refinement of standard operating procedures and continuous improvement of operational processes
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field of study as well as 2-3 years of work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and certifications in VMS and PACS are preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule beyond standard Monday through Friday business hours, including participation in a rotating on-call schedule to provide emergency Information and Security Technology support.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, staff, consultants, vendors, and campus visitors.
  • Demonstrated energy, adaptability, and customer-service orientation in a collaborative academic environment.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Willingness and ability to sign and adhere to a confidentiality agreement.
