West Virginia University Athletics is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Electronics Trade Specialist to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems utilized throughout our NCAA Division I athletic facilities and event venues. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability of game-day technology, broadcast infrastructure, scoreboards, video systems, communications equipment, and other electronic assets that support athletic competitions and special events.

Working under the direction of the Electronics Media Technician Senior, the Electronics Trade Specialist will provide technical support for a wide range of athletic department systems while helping to maintain the high operational standards expected of WVU Athletics.

- Assist with the testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of athletic department electronic systems and equipment.
- Support the upkeep and operation of scoreboards, video display systems, audio systems, broadcast equipment, communications systems, and related technology.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend system life.
- Maintain and organize an extensive inventory of electronic parts, tools, and replacement equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, broadcast partners, and service providers to facilitate technical support and venue access.
- Provide technical support during athletic competitions, practices, camps, and special events.
- Assist in identifying equipment issues and implementing timely solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Help maintain safe and efficient operation of electronic systems across all athletic venues.
- Support department initiatives and other duties as assigned.
- Athletics is a dynamic environment that operates well beyond traditional business hours. This position requires:
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
- Mandatory overtime and consecutive-day event coverage as needed.
- Attendance at athletic competitions and special events throughout the year.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and work in various indoor and outdoor venue conditions.
- Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience involving computer skills (Windows, Apple)
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
- Maintain high standard of ethics and integrity related to intercollegiate athletics
- Knowledge of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics
- Knowledge of NCAA and conference guidelines, policies, rules and regulations
- Ability to function professionally under high stress and confrontational circumstances
- Ability to manage multiple tasks for extended period of time
- Ability to independently plan and organize work
- Proactive attitude towards work and assignments
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to work nights, weekend and holidays to cover events that are held in any athletic facility
- Experience supporting electronic systems in athletic, broadcast, entertainment, or large-event environments.
- Knowledge of video display systems, scoreboard technology, control systems, and broadcast equipment.
