Our New Martinsville, WV location is currently searching for a dynamic Operations Manager
! This position requires independent judgement and the ability to lead, manage, direct, and implement the allocation of manpower and equipment in the most efficient manner to ensure that all customers receive the highest level of service possible. The Operations Manager ensures that all employees comply with all safety, D.E.R., OSHA and D.O.T. regulations and operating policies and procedures of the company, and continually reinforces the same through specific training programs and constant interaction with all employees.

This position is responsible to train all drivers, laborers and supervisors and to complete any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

• Sets up and/or approves the daily schedule and allocates manpower and equipment to attain the highest possible level of customer service in the most cost-effective manner.
• Responsible for the training of all drivers, laborers and supervisors in the policies, procedures and customer service goals of the company.
• Responsible for the actions of all drivers, laborers and supervisors while working on the job, the discipline or recognition of employees when warranted, and the morale of the workforce.
• Anticipates service problems and develops contingency plan(s) to handle the same.
• Responsible for route design and efficiency.
• Responsible for complying with D.E.R., OSHA and D.O.T. rules and regulations.
• Responsible for creating and summarizing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
• Assist in the development of safety and quality assurance programs.
• Assist the General Manager in budget preparation
• Project and maintain a positive image with peers, subordinates, customers and community in all situations.
• Continuously improve customer satisfaction by reducing, misses, late pick-ups, and unacceptable employee behavior.
• Interviews driver and laborer applicants and recommends individuals for hire.
• With the General Manager, conducts introductory and performance reviews of all subordinates and recommends increases, transfer or termination.

You Have:

• CDL Required
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 3 years supervisor experience; or an Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 5 years supervisor experience; or a combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Requires an overall knowledge of the solid waste business including, front load, rear load, roll off and recycle applications, transfer station operation, dispatch, D.E.R., OSHA and D.O.T. regulations as they apply to this industry and the operation of all related equipment.
• Experience in supervising waste routes is extremely desirable.
• Ability to analyze and design a route plan to maximize efficiency, maintain customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness.
• Ability to meet the public and deal effectively with their questions.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all employees.
• Ability to coach, develop and motivate employees.
• Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and Power Point
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, time sensitive environment
