About STAND TO

STAND TO is a specialist veterans’ support service within DAAS (Derbyshire Addictions Advice Service). Originally established to provide dedicated alcohol support for veterans, it has grown into a holistic wellbeing service offering recovery programmes, mental health support, community activities, and a thriving Veteran Community Hub.

With further expansion planned (subject to funding) to support the wider Armed Forces community—including serving personnel and families—this is an exciting time to join the team.

You will ensure the service operates safely, professionally, and in line with DAAS governance, contributing to strategic development, service quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and monitor project delivery, ensuring accurate data capture and production of funder reports
  • Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and clinical governance
  • Maintain strong relationships with military, NHS, local authority, and voluntary sector partners
  • Supervise staff and volunteers, providing line management, training oversight, and on‑call support
  • Promote the STAND TO service at events, meetings and through digital channels
  • Contribute to service development, funding opportunities, and stakeholder engagement
About You

You will bring:

  • Military experience or close family connection to the Armed Forces, with leadership experience
  • Experience managing staff or volunteers
  • li>Experience in support, welfare, community, or mental health settings
  • Strong communication, organisational and IT skills
  • Ability to manage risk, safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Commitment to supporting veterans and their families
  • Experience in veteran‑specific services
  • Experience supervising clinical caseload staff
  • Knowledge of Armed Forces Covenant, ERS, and veteran‑related policy

You will receive 25 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays, both pro‑rated based on your working hours. Additional benefits include access to an Employee Assistance Programme, a Medicash Health Plan, and a company pension scheme.
