Wolviston Management Services are supporting a leading facilities management provider in the recruitment of a Technical Services Manager (Building / Fabric) to join a major healthcare contract in Birmingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced FM professional to lead building fabric maintenance services across a large, complex estate, with a strong focus on compliance, performance and service delivery.
The RoleAs a Technical Services Manager, you will oversee the delivery of all building fabric and civil maintenance activities across a large NHS estate, ensuring services are delivered in line with contractual KPIs, statutory requirements and industry best practice. You’ll manage teams, contractors and stakeholders while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Manage building/fabric maintenance teams and trade supervisors across the estate
- Ensure delivery of PPM, reactive and project works in line with contract SLAs
- Manage subcontractors and specialist service providers
- Drive performance through CAFM systems and digital tools
- Ensure compliance with H&S regulations, CDM and HTM standards
- Carry out audits, inspections and compliance checks across the estate
- Lead on staff management including appraisals, training and performance
- Liaise with NHS stakeholders and support contract delivery meetings
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping and audit readiness across all services
- Respond to site incidents and support emergency response activities
We’re looking for a strong leader with experience managing building fabric or hard FM services within complex environments.
Essential Requirements- Proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary maintenance teams
- Strong knowledge of FM legislation, H&S and CDM regulations
- Experience working in complex or critical environments
- Background in building/fabric services (City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Experience managing contracts, audits and service delivery performance
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with in healthcare or NHS environments
- Knowledge of HTM standards and healthcare compliance
- Understanding of PFI environments and Building Safety regulations
