Religious Services Assistant

Duties

Supports the Chaplains, volunteers, and religious programming of all faiths in the institution or the Life Connections unit. Maintains the records, ecclesiastical documents, materials, and other references for the institution's religious groups or Life Connections Program. Assist in the preparation of devotional and religious educational materials and audio visual displays. Work with the chaplaincy or Life Connections team to determine, develop, manage and maintain the logistical support requirements of the religious program.

Helps supervise day-to-day inmate activities, programs, security, and provides administration of the inmate pass system in the religious program area. Performs clerical duties to include, typing, filing, proofreading, time and attendance, recording and transcribing meeting minutes as well as serves on the planning committees. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.

The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
