The Senior Director, Foundation Operations serves as a key strategic and operational leader within the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF), partnering closely with the SVP, Chief of Development Operations and the Chief Development Officer to drive organizational effectiveness, financial stewardship, and long-term growth.
This role leads division-wide planning, business operations,financial management, and strategic initiatives, ensuring the Foundation operates with discipline and scalability. The Senior Director serves as a central connector between Development, Finance, Hospitality, Strategic Advancement, and other organizational partners to align resources, priorities, and execution against fundraising and organizational goals.
Here's how you'll have an impact:Strategic Planning & Organizational Leadership (25%)
- In partnership with the SVP, Chief of Development Operations and Chief Development Officer, lead the development and implementation of the Foundation’s 24-36-month strategic plan.
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable annual objectives, milestones, and accountability frameworks.
- Facilitate executive planning sessions and strategic reviews to evaluate progress against goals.
- Monitor organizational performance indicators and recommend adjustments to strategy and resource allocation.
- Lead special projects and enterprise initiatives on behalf of Foundation leadership.
- Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and trends that may impact fundraising performance or organizational objectives.
Financial Planning & Business Management (25%)
- In collaboration with Finance, lead the development of annual budgets, operating plans, forecasts, and multi-year financial models for the Development division.
- Develop financial scenarios, revenue projections, and investment analyses to support leadership decision-making.
- Monitor divisional performance against budget and forecast targets.
- Partner with department leaders to drive accountability for expense management and resource allocation.
- Develop executive-level financial presentations and business reviews for Foundation leadership, executive leadership, and governing boards.
- Ensure that short-term operating plans align with long-term strategic and financial objectives.
Hospitality Financial Oversight & Risk Management (25%)
- Serve as the business lead for hospitality financial management and planning.
- Partner with Hospitality leadership to oversee forecasting, inventory management, pricing strategies, utilization rates, and financial performance.
- Develop financial models and risk mitigation strategies to maximize donor experience while minimizing organizational exposure.
- Monitor hospitality-related contracts, commitments, and vendor performance from a financial and operational perspective.
- Establish reporting frameworks and financial controls that support informed decision-making and strong fiscal stewardship.
- Identify opportunities to improve hospitality profitability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Annual Planning & Operational Excellence (15%)
- Lead the Development division annual planning process, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities, team objectives, staffing plans, and budgets.
- Establish and manage planning calendars, operating rhythms, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms.
- Drive cross-functional coordination among fundraising, stewardship, annual giving, hospitality, analytics, and operations teams.
- Promote best practices in project management, organizational effectiveness, and business planning.
- Develop tools, templates, and processes that improve planning consistency and execution across the division.
