An established manufacturing business is seeking a metal fabricator to join its growing production team. This position is ideally suited to a fabricator who enjoys working with lightweight aluminium products and assemblies. While welding experience is desirable, this is not a dedicated welding role. The focus is on fabrication, assembly, finishing, and producing high-quality components to specification.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricating and assembling aluminium components from engineering drawings.
- Cutting, drilling, folding and preparing materials for manufacture.
- Using a variety of hand tools and workshop equipment.
- Carrying out basic welding activities where required.
- Ensuring all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Conducting self‑inspection of completed work.
- Working closely with colleagues across production to achieve delivery deadlines.
- Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
- Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working with aluminium, sheet metal or light gauge materials.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Good practical skills and a hands‑on approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic MIG or TIG welding experience.
- Experience with aluminium fabrication.
- Experience using workshop machinery such as guillotines, presses, saws or drills.
- Background in architectural metalwork, façades, flashings or bespoke manufacturing.
