Job Type: Full‑time
Description: The packaging operator is responsible for bagging and baler operations on the production line, ensuring high-quality, efficient output while maintaining safety and cleanliness.
Salary: $14.50 per hour plus $1.00 shift differential
Shift: 3/4‑4/3 schedule, 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, working Saturdays with one full weekend on and one full weekend off per month
Pre‑employment Requirements: Background check and drug screen are required.
Responsibilities- The packaging operator must perform bagging and baler functions as directed by Shift Leads.
- Operate machinery safely and productively, following established safety guidelines.
- Assist other production areas as needed.
- Move and wrap completed products.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
- Assist Shift Leads in starting and stopping the pellet mills.
- Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Leads.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Operate bagging and baler machines, shrink‑wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jacks, and bag sealers.
- Stack bags on pallets, cover pallets, and place finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
- Accurately complete the Bagger production report, fill pellet sample cups every ton for quality control, and tag pallets with Quality Control tags including initials, date, ton number, and shift.
- Stack bales on pallets, seal bales with an iron, and wrap pallets.
- Accurately complete the Baler Operator production report, check bale weight, and record information on various reports and quality control tags.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
- Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Must pass company forklift training.
- Ability to read and interpret scales.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust baler weight and timing and perform simple maintenance.
