Material Handler

U.S. Lumber is an SBP Brand. U.S. Lumber is currently looking for a Material Handler to join our VALUES based organization. A Material Handler performs a number of different and important responsibilities including material receiving, material & product movement, product shipping and production support responsibilities.

Essential functions include receiving, auditing, inspecting,  putting away incoming material to proper locations; maintaining housekeeping and organization in warehouse and other material location area; maintaining correct inventories by moving materials in computer when physically moving materials; assisting in assigning production areas when not moving materials; ensuring the product and or materials meet quality expectations; notifying supervisor of improvement opportunities; supporting area needs to remove empty pallets, trash and recycle type materials;

staging completed and stretch wrapped products into shipping staging lanes by loads; loading trucks with finished products per direction of Warehouse/Operations Manager; responsible for adhering to forklift, operational, quality and safety guidelines; and performing other duties as assigned.

following safety policies and procedures, identifying and correcting safety hazards, encouraging others to work safety; demonstrating the ability to get results despite large workload, competing demands and a fast-paced environment; performed all tasks in job description in a highly effective manner, creative and innovative and drives process improvements; demonstrating a high level of knowledge of job, products, services and procedures.

Has a high level of job knowledge and understanding of systems, procedures, etc; demonstrating positive working relationships with co-workers, effectively handles conflict situations, comes to work when scheduled, adheres to schedule for arrival time, breaks and lunches; seeking knowledge about all aspects of his/her business, is aware of his/her own strengths and weaknesses; seeking developmental feedback; aware of how the work performed in the job and the goals of the organization are interrelated;

aware of the competition; knows the business and industry; maintaining and communicating a high level of enthusiasm, commitment and energy to all co-workers; demonstrating responsibility and honest behavior in all roles, tasks and responsibilities.
