Job Description
Social Media & Content Coordinator
Company: PILOT
Industry: Indie Animation / Streaming
Role Type:
Part-Time
Location:
Remote
About PILOT
PILOT is an upcoming streaming platform built around independent animation and creator-owned work.
Our goal is to make indie animation easier to discover while giving creators a platform that respects their ownership, identity, and audience.
We’re still early, which means our social presence is early too.
We’re looking for someone who can help turn that blank canvas into a social presence people actually want to follow.
The Role
PILOT is looking for a Social Media & Content Coordinator to help establish and grow our presence across platforms such as Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube Shorts, X/Twitter, and other relevant social channels.
This is not just a scheduling role.
We’re looking for someone who can help answer questions like:
* What should PILOT post before launch?
* How do we make people care about PILOT without constantly advertising PILOT?
* How do we highlight indie creators and animation in a way that feels entertaining rather than corporate?
* What recurring content formats could become recognizable parts of the brand?
* How do we turn future shows, clips, events, and original programming into social content that people actually share?
You’ll help shape PILOT’s social voice from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
* Create, write, schedule, and publish social content across PILOT’s accounts.
* Develop recurring content ideas focused on indie animation, creators, characters, production, and animation culture.
* Find interesting ways to keep PILOT’s accounts active before the full platform launches.
* Spotlight indie animated projects and creators with proper attribution and permission.
* Write captions and social copy that feel natural, entertaining, and platform-appropriate.
* Create or edit short-form video content for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, and You Tube Shorts.
* Adapt content differently for each platform instead of simply reposting the exact same material everywhere.
* Follow indie-animation communities, trends, releases, crowdfunding campaigns, and creator news.
* Help develop social campaigns around future PILOT releases and original programming.
* Identify moments from future PILOT programming that can work as strong standalone clips.
* Engage naturally with creators, fans, and animation communities.
* Track social performance and use analytics to improve future posts.
* Work with PILOT’s community and creative teams to keep messaging consistent.
* Make sure creators, shows, artists, and voice actors are credited correctly.
* Help establish clear messaging around PILOT being a licensed platform for creator-owned work.
What We’re Looking For
You should:
* Understand how Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, You Tube Shorts, and X/Twitter actually function culturally.
* Be comfortable creating content from scratch rather than waiting for someone to hand you finished assets.
* Understand internet humor without making brands sound like they are trying too hard to be funny.
* Have strong writing and captioning skills.
* Have basic-to-strong short-form video editing skills.
* Understand fandom culture and how to interact with fan communities respectfully.
* Have an interest in animation, indie media, online creators, or entertainment.
* Be able to recognize what makes a clip entertaining even without context.
* Understand the importance of creator attribution and intellectual-property ownership.
* Be organized enough to maintain a content calendar while still reacting quickly when something unexpected performs well.
* Be comfortable working with a small team where the role may evolve as PILOT grows.
