Licensed Practical Nurse-Med​/Surg

Rivers Health is seeking a full-time LPN to perform nursing services on our Med/Surg Unit. Works under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse rendering nursing care including medications and treatments to patients in a timely manner.

Nursing Assistants

• Provides direct patient care.
• Administers medications (PO, IM, IV PB) in a safe and timely manner; accurately documents medication administration.
• Safeguards medications and narcotics.
• Starts and assists with the maintenance of IV lines.
• Accurate documentation of care.
• Assists with patient education in collaboration with other disciplines.
• Assists with unit cleanliness.
• Assists with admission and discharge assessments.
• Respects patient privacy, rights, and individual values; provides care accordingly.
• Provides care to a given group of patients according to the care plan provided by the Registered Nurse; works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Reports observations and pertinent information to Registered Nurse.
• Works closely and harmoniously with Registered Nurse.
• Assists in orienting new employees.
• Administers nursing care in a safe and timely manner according to hospital policies, procedures, and philosophy.
• Completes all annual competencies.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
• Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies, and the Personnel Employee Handbook.
• Cross‑train to other units as needed.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
• Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration; attends unit meetings.
• Participates in quality improvement activities, including serving on quality improvement teams.
