Job Summary
As the Chest Pain Coordinator, you will develop and maintain a positive working rapport with other hospital departments, physicians, and Emergency Medical Services, as well as patients and their families. You will work under the supervision of the Director of Quality Management. The Coordinator will serve as a liaison to administration, represent the cardiovascular program on various hospital and community committees, and enhance excellence in cardiovascular care.
You will educate nursing and ancillary staff on best practices for Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) patients, support education to meet all requirements of Chest Pain Accreditation, and recommend protocols and guidelines for the best practice treatment of cardiac patients across the continuum of care.
Responsibilities include overseeing, analyzing, and trending data related to the throughput of cardiac patients, providing data to the Quality Director and other hospital leadership to initiate changes, and ensuring compliance with all TJC and other applicable regulatory agency guidelines.
Qualifications• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or a Multi‑State Compact License (employees with an RN Compact License are required to obtain a Texas RN License within 90 days of hire).
• BLS & ACLS certifications required.
• Three years of recent clinical experience in a care setting.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Office.
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills for process improvement and decision making.
