Why This Role Matters

The Nurse Supervisor serves as the clinical nursing leader for the facility and plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. This position provides day-to-day leadership of nursing services, oversees nursing operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

The Nurse Manager works closely with facility leadership, medical providers, clinicians, and support staff to ensure exceptional patient experiences and treatment outcomes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Nursing Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support for nursing staff.
  • Develop staff schedules and ensure appropriate nursing coverage.
  • Conduct competency assessments, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing personnel.
  • Promote a positive, mission-driven culture aligned with organizational values.
Clinical Care & Treatment Services
  • Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Assess patient needs and identify high-risk indicators requiring intervention.
  • Ensure appropriate nursing assessments, documentation, and care planning.
  • Support treatment planning and discharge planning processes.
  • Provide direct clinical assessment and intervention services as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and community resources.
Compliance & Quality Management
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Oversee medication administration processes and Medication Administration Records (MARs).
  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support Joint Commission readiness and regulatory survey preparedness.
  • Participate in audits, incident reviews, and corrective action planning.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation standards.
Operational Excellence
  • Develop and maintain nursing workflows based on best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Monitor infection prevention and control practices.
  • Support facility leadership in achieving operational, quality, and patient care goals.
  • Assist with policy implementation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active West Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, psychiatric care, residential treatment, or a related healthcare setting.
  • Previous leadership, charge nurse, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
  • Experience with medication administration and clinical documentation requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in detoxification and residential substance use disorder treatment programs.
  • Experience with Joint Commission, CARF, or other healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Experience with staff scheduling and workforce management.
