Healthcare Nursing, Advanced Practice Nurse/APRN
Provide healthcare services, under the supervision of a physician .Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel patients. May prescribe medicine. Maintains an effective professional relationship with patients, families, co-workers,medical staff, and administration and works to create a culture ofservice excellence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’sDegree in Nursing
- National Certification by one of the recognized APRNCertification Centers
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional
Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia - Basic Life Support Certification required with additional
Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training at the discretion of the department.
- Acute care, surgical, critical care, or trauma experience

- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray and POClab tests.
- Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
- Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems ofdaily living, and health maintenance.
- Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
- Makes diagnosis and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
- Obtains, compiles and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination utilizing the Meditech EMR.
- Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections,immunizations, suturing and wound care and infection management.
- Prescribes therapy or medication – electronically when available.
- Educates, instructs and coordinates activities with the medical assistant(s) as needed during the care and treatment of patients.
- Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.
- Communicates with staff, medical staff and administration insupport of operations.
