As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll help our medical team keep each day running smoothly while providing compassionate care to our patients.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary team members during appointments and procedures.
- Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats for examinations and treatments.
Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patients.
Assist with routine patient care and monitoring.
Help collect and prepare laboratory samples as directed.
Assist with diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Prepare patients and supplies for surgical and dental procedures.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain exam rooms, kennels, treatment areas, and equipment.
- Feed, walk, monitor, and provide comfort to hospitalized or recovering patients.
Stock medical and hospital supplies.
- Maintain accurate patient information and communicate important observations to the veterinary team.
Help clients feel welcomed and supported throughout their pet's visit.
- Jump in where needed to support the team and keep the hospital running efficiently.
- Previous veterinary, kennel, animal care, or healthcare experience is required.
Comfortable working with both dogs and cats.
- Confident handling animals or willing to learn proper restraint and handling techniques.
Compassionate and patient with pets.
Dependable and able to work well as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail.
Good communication and customer-service skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
Willingness to learn new skills and take direction.
Able to stay organized while managing multiple responsibilities.
Wants to build a career in veterinary medicine.
Enjoys hands-on work rather than sitting behind a desk all day.
- Loves animals but also understands that veterinary care requires teamwork, responsibility, and attention to detail.
Takes initiative and is willing to help wherever needed.
Wants to continue learning and developing their veterinary skills.
Monday–Friday No Saturdays. No Sundays.
Full Time
Compensation$14/hr - $18/hr
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
