Position Overview

The Safety Technician opportunity supports safe and compliant operations within a downstream oil and gas facility. This Safety Technician role is focused on promoting health, safety, and environmental standards through inspections, compliance monitoring, hazard identification, and incident support. The Safety Technician will work closely with operational teams to help maintain a safe working environment and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

This Safety Technician position offers the chance to make a direct impact on day-to-day site safety culture and operational compliance.

Role Context

This position is based within a downstream oil and gas operating environment. The role supports industrial facility operations and works closely with site teams to uphold HSE standards across ongoing activities. The working environment is safety-critical and suited to candidates with experience in refinery, petrochemical, or comparable industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine safety inspections and audits across the facility.
  • Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.
  • Monitor compliance with company and regulatory HSE requirements.
  • Support incident investigations and reporting activities.
  • Assist with risk assessments and job safety analyses.
  • Deliver safety briefings and training sessions to support safe working practices.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation and safety records.
  • Promote a strong and proactive safety culture across the site.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential:
    Technical diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Essential:
    Knowledge of HSE regulations and industry best practices.
  • Essential:
    Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable:
    Experience in industrial, refinery, petrochemical, or downstream operations.
