Senior Talent Acquisition Manager, Halo Land Management | The Single, Integrated Source for All Land Management Needs

Halo Land Management partners with leading energy companies to support critical oil and gas development. Our teams handle everything from title and abstracting to right of way and land negotiation. We move fast, we value accuracy, and we care about how work gets done, not just that it gets done.

As we grow, we are building a consistent standard for what success looks like in every role. This Land Agent position is a key part of that effort.

As a Land Agent you are the frontline connection between Halo, our clients, and landowners. You are responsible for negotiating oil and gas leases, documenting all activity with precision, and representing Halo with professionalism in the field and over the phone.

You will use your knowledge of leases, land concepts, and negotiation to move deals forward while balancing quality, quantity, and strong relationships. The ideal candidate brings at least one to three years of land or related experience, is highly organized, and thrives in a setting with clear expectations and minimal micromanagement.

Key Responsibilities Landowner Outreach and Negotiation
  • Contact landowners through phone, email, letters, and in person visits to discuss lease opportunities and project needs
  • Explain lease terms, answer questions, and handle objections in a clear, professional manner
  • Negotiate lease terms within approved authority and escalate redlines or nonstandard requests for review
  • Build rapport with a wide range of landowners, including elderly or high profile individuals, and maintain patience and professionalism at all times
  • Coordinate attorney or representative interactions where needed and provide context to project leadership
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate negotiator notes for every contact, including date, method of contact, and outcome
  • Correctly request leases and related documents, including LPRs and ARFs, with complete and accurate information
  • Track and update the status of leases and tracts in project systems and trackers
  • Use accuracy trackers and quality reports to continually improve, reduce errors, and avoid repeated issues
  • Ensure all lease forms, riders, and related documents follow current project standards and approvals
Field Work and Site Engagement
  • Conduct field visits when needed to meet landowners, deliver documents, and support recording or execution
  • Represent Halo professionally in appearance, communication, and conduct during all in person interactions
  • Coordinate with team members to cover field and remote needs based on project structure
Internal Communication and Teamwork
  • Communicate consistently with project managers, coordinators, and admins on status, blockers, and upcoming needs
  • Share best practices and lessons learned with peers and support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Step in to help teammates when possible and maintain a team first mindset, even as an independent contractor when applicable
