The School of Natural Resources and the Environment at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for Temporary Wild Turkey Field Technician. We are seeking to hire a field technician to assist graduate students with research on wild turkey ecology and management. The field technician will assist with monitoring turkey survival/nesting and collecting associated environmental data. The technician will also help with data entry/organization, and equipment upkeep.

This position will work closely with individuals from WVU and the WV Division of Natural Resources.

• Monitoring turkey survival and nesting: 75% of time
• Collecting environmental data: 10% of time
• Data entry and organization: 10% of time
• Equipment upkeep: 5% of time

Pay Grade: 10

Length of Assignment: 5 Months

Work Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

• Associate's degree in wildlife biology, ecology, or related field
• 0-6 months related experience
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in harsh weather conditions and difficult terrain
• Experience communicating with the public while in the field

Basic knowledge of data entry in Excel
