Position

Pastry Chef – Stonewall Resort, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and bake cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, desserts, and other pastry items for the hotel’s daily production.
  • Plan and execute the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all pastry items, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality, and safety standards.
  • Oversee production of pastry goods, maintain a clean and sanitized work area after each shift, and carry out policies and procedures of Stonewall Resort and Benchmark Hospitality International.
  • Supervise pastry employees, providing training and guidance on preparation, presentation, equipment, and machine safety.
  • Design, decorate, and plate pastries and desserts for banquet service and all restaurant outlets, assisting with large events as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef on menu updates, including recipes, specifications, and production forecasts.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation while enhancing the guest dining experience.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors, demonstrate professional attitude, demeanor, and appearance, and wear proper uniform.
  • Monitor production needs during shifts, manage inventory, reduce waste, and apply proper food rotation principles.
  • Assist with special projects assigned by the immediate superior and provide assistance in other job classifications as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of pastry experience in a professional high‑volume kitchen.
  • College graduate in culinary arts or graduate of an apprenticeship or culinary school preferred.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Creative, motivated, and a hands‑on leader in the kitchen.
  • Proven track record of developing creative menus that reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous manner toward guests and team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
