Location: New Martinsville
Plant Guard – Covestro New Martinsville Site
Provide comprehensive security services for the Covestro New Martinsville Site, including guest and telephone reception, radio communications, operation of electronic security equipment, access control, random perimeter checks, vehicle inspections, authorization of visitor clearances, surveillance duties, traffic control, monitoring of parking lots, use of defensive and offensive security systems, and participation in Plant Emergency Services Teams as directed.
Responsibilities- Guest and telephone reception duties.
- Radio communications and monitoring of electronic security equipment.
- Operation of access control system and performance of random perimeter checks and vehicle inspections.
- Authorization of security clearance for all visitors entering the plant.
- Surveillance duties and testifying regarding observations.
- Traffic control and monitoring of parking lots for parking/speed violations.
- Utilization of defensive and offensive site security and personnel protection systems and equipment as assigned.
- Serve on Plant Emergency Services Teams as determined by Management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain EMT–B certification.
- Ability to pass a Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) background check.
- Knowledge of plant operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous law enforcement or security experience.
- Experience with a Department of Homeland Security or Coast Guard site.
- Ability to comply with and support site Safety initiatives.
- Ability to qualify and serve on Plant Emergency Services Teams.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including required overtime.
- Good interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of employees and visitors.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; computer literacy.
- Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition.
- Demonstrated ability to accept and implement change.
- Ability to qualify in the use of defensive and offensive site security and personnel protection systems and equipment.
- Physical endurance: stand for long periods, walk briskly for 100 yards, run full stride for 50 yards, climb ladders (short distances/heights).
- Ability to work in varying physical environments (indoors/outdoors inclement weather).
Starting pay rate: $21.73 per hour with increases every 6 months until maximum pay rate: $25.75 per hour.
This is a union position with a 90‑day probationary period.
