Location: White Sulphur Springs
Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead investigations into fraud or violations of WV Lottery rules and regulations, including the WV State Lottery Act, Racetrack video lottery, and table game rules.
- Perform compliance inspections at racetracks and all related areas, ensuring security procedures and regulations are followed.
- Oversee racetrack operations to maintain security integrity and coordinate with relevant law‑enforcement agencies.
- Prepare and submit evidence and findings to appropriate supervisory officials.
- Maintain daily documentation and use desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Respond to on‑call duties during non‑business hours (24/7) and handle potentially dangerous situations.
- Travel by personal automobile and accommodate overnight stays as required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent through substitution (one year of experience for every thirty semester hours of training).
- One year of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid experience in law enforcement, investigative work, or determining eligibility for credit, insurance, or government programs.
- Two years of investigative, law enforcement, surveillance, accounting/auditing or business operations experience in lottery or casino/gaming operations (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile; qualification to possess and use firearms may be required.
- No record of conviction for any violation of lottery law, a felony, or any crime related to theft or gambling; subject to extensive background investigation.
PG: 14, $39,461 – $68,582. Market Rate: $61,044. State employment offers a variety of benefits.
Other InformationPosition located at racetrack; requires public contact, walking, stairs, and handling of low‑lighting environments. Employee will report to the assigned racetrack and work under the Deputy Director of Racetrack/Table Games for security.
