Technicians are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, servicing, electrical repairs, and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life safety systems, as well as on similar products from competitive manufacturers.
Tasks- Perform inspections, testing, servicing, electrical repairs, and preventive maintenance on life safety systems for both existing and new customers.
- Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided.
- Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
- Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy.
- Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
- Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via mobile device.
- Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs.
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions; such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
- Work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
- Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Installation/ Service Experience in testing and inspecting Fire Alarm Equipment.
- Self-starter that can work with little or no supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
- Capable of performing physical labor.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Obtain NICET I within 1 year of employment.
- Journeyman electrical license.
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook) along with Smartphone skills.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $18.37 - $25.29 Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
