Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Job Summary:
The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician performs preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and corrective actions on Process Control Technician (PCT) equipment, including instruments, electrical equipment, and analyzer systems. The role follows all relevant standards and procedures to ensure safe and reliable production. This is a union position (ICWU-C Local 566-C) with a 90‑day probationary period, hourly wage set per the negotiated labor agreement, and requires working overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and back shifts.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Strictly follow all relevant operational and safety procedures, standards, and regulations, ensuring completion of assigned maintenance jobs under safe conditions.
- Perform assigned PCT/PAT preventive and predictive maintenance tasks according to the plan and schedule.
- Execute timely troubleshooting and repair work/corrective actions on PCT/PAT equipment to maintain safe and reliable operation.
- Provide timely feedback to supervisors, planners, engineers, and related production personnel on maintenance task performance and identified issues to support continuous improvement.
- Share experience and best practices with other technicians.
- Complete assigned training and related safety activities on time.
- Perform related corrective maintenance jobs during shift time when assigned, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Use and maintain all tools in proper condition and conduct tool maintenance as required.
- Prepare maintenance activity reports and submit them to the supervisor after completing each activity to keep maintenance documentation updated.
- High school diploma or vocational school education in electrical and instrumentation, or relevant work experience in electrical and instrumentation.
- Successful completion of the site’s written and practical assessments.
- Ability to work overtime, self-directed on back shifts and weekends, and on rotating shifts.
- Required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
- Required to train, qualify, and respond as a member of the Emergency Response Team; employees in safety‑critical positions are subject to random drug screening.
