We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Installation Supervisor to join our Group Technology team! This position requires travel of 60%, both internationally and nationally, and the ability to relocate for extended time periods to project sites. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this position. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects for extended periods of time in the U.S., Canada, Europe and/or Asia and will be instrumental in the planning and implementation of our new factory in Wallula, WA.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Own the site installation, testing, and commissioning of our production equipment and solutions.
- Work mainly with design, installation, commissioning, and running‑in of major projects, ensuring that all equipment within the factory is supplied where required.
- Take full responsibility for project execution with respect to installation, testing, and commissioning as an expert provider of design solutions.
- Ensure that necessary expertise from other departments—environment, safety, MMRs—are included in solutions.
- Communicate with and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Ensure all documentation and reporting are completed and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and are available for review.
- Ensure that all site work is done safely and in accordance with best‑practice site safety.
- Expect substantial travel inside and outside of North America for project execution, supplier visits, coordination, etc.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years working in a similar position with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, and design specifications experience.
- Experience with 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar program.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally 60% of the time.
- Extended periods of presence at project sites are required (temporary relocation).
- Strong communication skills.
- Preference given to candidates who have experience as a smith, mechanic, or other craftsman.
