Maintenance Specialist – Building Operations & Maintenance
Job Summary
Under general supervision, responsible for complex repairs and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and plumbing systems for the Health System in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, department policies, and applicable codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- ELECTRICAL
:
Maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems and equipment. Installs circuits of various voltages and phases per the National Electric Code and other required codes. Repairs/replaces fixtures, switches, ballasts, bulbs, and other components. Performs preventive maintenance on circuits and equipment. Must read and interpret electrical blueprints. - HVAC
:
Inspect, maintain, repair, and install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment throughout the Health System. - MECHANICAL
:
Maintain, monitor, and perform minor repairs to facility mechanical systems including boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, emergency generators, nurse call systems, fire alarm systems, and pneumatic tube system. Must read and interpret mechanical blueprints. - PLUMBING
:
Knowledge of facility plumbing systems, fitting pipe, repairing/replacing fixtures, and opening blocked drains. - GENERAL
:
Work independently and as part of a team. Complete general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Five years of directly related experience preferred.
Heavy Work
Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Credentials
- Drivers License (Required)
- Electrician License – Journeyman. Current West Virginia Journeyman or Master Electrician License. Universal EPA Certification (Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 categories).
- HVAC (Required)
- Master Plumber – Current West Virginia Journeyman or Master Plumbing License.
