Morin Construction is looking for an experienced and dependable Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. You’ll be supporting our construction operations by maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy equipment and trucks.
You’ll take part in the camp mine site rotation at the GGM mine camp to ensure the smooth running of our daily operations.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who takes pride in keeping machines in top shape and enjoys working as part of a tight-knit team.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of the licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic in a modern, safety-focused garage
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment and trucks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards
- Collaborate with operators and supervisors to prioritize urgent repairs
- Work under the supervision of the licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic
- Order parts and supplies as needed
- Keep the garage workspace organized, safe and efficient
- Support equipment readiness for field deployment
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced garage environment
- Experience working on equipment used in construction and forestry operations
- Familiarity with safety standards and compliance in a garage setting
- Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation
- Technical courses in mechanics or related field are an asset
- Possession of a 310T Truck & Coach Technician license (asset, not required)
- Valid driver’s license
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Bilingualism (English and French)
- Previous experience with Cat, John Deere, or Komatsu equipment
