As a Carpenter with CXT, Inc., you will be responsible for fabricating and installing wooden and other infrastructure products according to job specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber
- Prefabricate window frames, and doors bucks
- Maintain inventory numbers and submit any material requisitions to management
- Work with a variety of carpentry hand tool and power tools or equipment
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred - 2+ years of precast or construction experience required
- 2+ years of previous experience as a carpenter required
Skills & Abilities
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Great hand dexterity and an eye for detail
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Understanding of English language both written and spoken
- Understanding of basic math
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; bend/stoop throughout day
