- Support the mission and vision of Burlington United Methodist Family Services through compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in appropriate professional development programs and services to attain and maintain competency.
- Support all functions that attain and maintain accreditation with regulatory agencies.
- Become personally acquainted with each resident and develop a solid working knowledge of their background, dynamics, and treatment plan.
- Consistently keep residents informed of any changes, new directions, and expectations related to the house.
- Follow goals and objectives on residents’ individual treatment plans and behavior support plans.
- Schedule medical appointments and therapy groups in coordination with Therapist and Shift Supervisor(s).
- Manage conflict, emergencies, and crisis in a professional manner, following Non Violent Crisis Intervention protocol, including the use of passive physical restraint.
- Administer medication to residents in accordance with medication administration protocols.
- Complete regular or necessary personnel‑related paperwork such as timesheets, leave requests, injury reports, mileage sheets, etc., in a timely manner.
- Maintain ongoing and open communication with staff.
- Share problems and criticisms constructively.
- Meet with the Shift Supervisor for a staff development conference every quarter.
- Ensure that pertinent information is written in the staff log for all shifts to read.
- Attend unit team meetings on a scheduled bi‑weekly basis, as well as other required meetings and staffing sessions.
- Assist residents in in‑group or individual settings with personal hygiene, care when sick, and first aid.
- Respond to residents’ emotional needs by giving acceptance, affection, encouragement, understanding, and guidance.
- Set aside time each day to meet with residents individually or collectively.
- Help residents follow through with goals and objectives of their treatment plan.
- Encourage participation in recreational activities and provide opportunities during free time.
- Provide opportunities to attend Church and/or Sunday school and encourage participation in other Spiritual Enrichment Programs.
- Record pertinent information regarding residents on the daily narrative, staff log, medication record, and incident reports in a detailed manner.

QualificationsEducation Level: High school diploma or GED (college training preferred).
