Position Posting

One week on-call blocks: evenings, weekends and holidays

Greenstone Victim Services provides immediate crisis response, intervention and prevention services which are responsive to the needs of individuals, families and communities affected by crime and tragic circumstance. Victim Services provides victims of any crime or tragedy with free, non-judgmental and confidential supportive services aimed at early intervention. We provide on-scene or over the phone crisis intervention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Crisis Responders will provide services outside of the Agency’s regular business hours. Wage rate: $300.00 per week worked, plus $50/statutory holiday worked.

ON-CALL SHIFTS

Provide on-call and on-scene coverage as needed based on the following shifts:

  • One week block includes evenings starting Monday at 4:00 pm until the following Monday at 8:00 am includes weekend of 24 hours per day
  • Statutory Holidays 8:00 am until 8:00 am the following day
  • Other coverage as required by the organization.

* Casual part-time staff must commit to working a minimum of one coverage period per month.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • College diploma in Social Services field is an asset
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Previous experience working with persons in crisis or persons who are experiencing trauma
  • Knowledge of safety planning, crisis response and crisis intervention
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Reliable vehicle, safe driving record and valid G Driver’s License

Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:

  • Participate in our online Crisis Intervention Training
  • Attend in-house training as required
