Job DescriptionOur Technical Centre in Travagliato (BS), an integral part of a larger international research and development team, is looking for a Firmware Engineer for the development of advanced embedded systems intended for robotics, automation, textile machines, and IoT solutions.
What you will do:
The candidate will be placed in the local team, directly reporting to the Head of the Technical Centre, and will be involved directly in advanced international technical projects aimed at the development and innovation of a wide portfolio of products, with particular focus on:
- Developing C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers (STM
32, TI C2000) following a structured Quality Coding Assessment (rules, software development process, built-in quality) - Working with FreeRTOS and Embedded Linux (Yocto)
- Developing drivers and communication modules (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, Ethernet)
- Integrating industrial and IoT protocols (MQTT, BLE, Wi-Fi, Zig Bee, Modbus, CANopen)
- Functional/performance testing, debugging HW/SW (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
- Applying secure coding & supporting cybersecurity compliance
- Collaborating with HW and Product Engineering teams
- Degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Automation
- Excellent knowledge of C/C++ and MCU/SoC
- Experience with FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, modular architectures
- Knowledge of industrial and wireless protocols
- Skills in debugging HW/SW
- Python for scripting/testing
- Basic knowledge of embedded cybersecurity
- English (spoken and written) required for technical documentation and international collaboration.
